Sis, let me be real with you for a minute. A couple of months ago, I had enough.  Enough of waiting around for something to happen. Enough of hoping that some magical opportunity would just fall into my lap.  You know what I realized? Opportunities aren’t just handed out like party favors. They can be given, sure, but just as easily snatched away. So I decided—I wasn’t going to sit around and wait for someone to open a door for me. I was going to kick that door down and create my own damn opportunities. And that’s exactly what I did. My best friend and I decided to take a risk and host our first women’s meet-up and networking event. We didn’t wait for an invitation to someone else’s table—we built our own.  And guess what? It was a hit.  We didn’t know all the answers, and we definitely didn’t have everything figured out. But we took the leap anyway, and it paid off big time.
